Job Description

Our client, a leader in their field located downtown Edmonton, is looking for an experienced  Contracts Specialist for a 1-year contract with a hybrid model (Monday and Friday from home).

This position supports contract development, negotiation, and administration for a range of operational and project-based needs. This role focuses on managing the full contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and maintaining strong vendor and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, issue, and manage RFI, RFQ, RFP, and contract documents.
  • Review vendor responses, conduct comparisons, and recommend award strategies.
  • Draft and manage contracts, amendments, and extensions to meet operational requirements.
  • Support contract negotiations on pricing, terms, schedules, and conditions.
  • Identify risks and recommend appropriate contract language.
  • Resolve contractual and commercial issues in collaboration with internal teams and vendors.
  • Ensure all legal, insurance, HSE, cyber security, compliance, and financial requirements are addressed in contracts.
  • Track, update, and improve contract templates and processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and service groups.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Legal, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, supply chain, or commercial roles.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, structure, and negotiation practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, and ERP systems (Oracle or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills.
