Drywall Installer and Finisher

• Wage: $28/hour
  • Wage Increase After Probationary Period:
    • Based on performance
    • May range from $0.50 to $5.00 per hour
    • Salary increases follow company policy
  • Contingent Wages:
    • Piecework
    • Mileage
• Employment terms and conditions: Permanent, Full-time, 35-48 hours/week, (Project dependent: summers can be up to 48 hours per week, winter months are minimum 35 hours per week), Morning, Day, Evening, Overtime may be required
• Vacancies: 3
• Benefits: Disability, Relocation support for the first 2 months (house and utilities covered by the company)
• Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Job requirements:

• Language: Basic English
• Education: No education required
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)), Hand-eye co-ordination, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods
• Personal Suitability: Dependability, Judgement, Client focus, Flexibility, Team player, Reliability

Duties:

• Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and a broad knife
• Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
• Carrying materials to the working locations
• Must be able to operate power tools safely
• Must understand and work with measurements in both millimeters and inches.
