Job Description

Randstad is currently hiring a Yard Operator with strong forklift experience to support a busy fabrication and metal works facility in Calgary. This is a seasonal, full-time opportunity offering competitive wages and benefits from day one. You will work both indoors and outdoors handling oversized loads such as metal fencing posts and pipes. This is not a standard warehouse forklift role—experience handling large, awkward materials is essential.

Position: Yard Operator
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary: $21–$23/hour
Location: Calgary, SE (Transit Accessible)

Responsibilities
Operate a propane sit-down counterbalance forklift; load and unload oversized metal materials from flat deck trucks; use tape measures, hand tools, and power tools; perform general yard and warehouse duties including cutting pipe and cleanup; assist with picking and packing orders for shipping/receiving; lift up to 50 lbs regularly; maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

External forklift certification required; 1–2 years’ experience in a yard, machine shop, or industrial setting; able to read and write English; comfortable using a tape measure, commercial band saw, and mechanical tools; physically fit to handle repetitive lifting and 8-hour shifts; strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
