Responsibilities:

• Perform office duties that include: reception duties, maintaining office supplies and equipment, and providing administrative support to the Assistant Manager and Manager of Heritage North.
• Performing transfers of the decedent from place of death to the funeral home.
• Being available for a rotation on the on-call schedule.
• Assist Funeral Directors in process of carrying out bereavement rights and disposition.
• Assist Embalmers in carrying out preparation of the decedent.
• Learn to operate and maintain the Crematorium.
• Performing errands on a daily basis.
• Maintaining service building appearance (i.e. cleaning interior of building and ).
• Maintaining service vehicles (cleaning and washing vehicles)

Requirements:

• Experience working in an office environment is an asset
• Class 5 driver’s License ( A minimum of 3 consecutive years of driving history is required)
• Criminal and Vulnerable Record Check
• Clean driving record (abstract)
• Be in good physical condition and understand good body mechanics pertaining to lifting (50 lbs) and standing for long periods.
• Available to work some evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrate flexibility to be able to prioritize between a wide variety of tasks.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, both verbally and written.
• Demonstrate the ability to work within a team and independently.
• Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and the understanding of the essential right to confidentiality in this environment.
