Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing FoodTech company transforming the office catering experience, is seeking an HR Generalist to help shape and elevate the employee journey. Operating across Ontario, Alberta, and BC, the company has been recognized for multiple years as one of Canada’s fastest-growing startups.

This is a remote-first role, with access to a physical office space for those who prefer an in-person work environment.

As the first dedicated HR team member, you will lead onboarding, engagement, and employee operations. This is a high-impact opportunity to lay the foundation for people processes in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Recruitment

  • Develop and manage onboarding plans for new hires
  • Ensure team members have the tools and support they need to succeed
  • Collaborate on hiring plans, write job descriptions, and screen candidates

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Design and lead programs that foster engagement and culture in a remote environment
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and celebrate key milestones
  • Coordinate performance reviews and development check-ins

People Operations & Compliance

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and support
  • Administer HRIS (Rippling), maintain employee records, and generate reports
  • Keep policies compliant with legislation and aligned with company values
  • Support team leads in coaching and performance management

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR role
  • Previous experience in a startup is an asset
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
