Job Description

A well-established and reputable insurance company is seeking a talented and experienced Internal Audit Manager to join their internal audit team. This is a strategic role designed to strengthen the company's internal control framework and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, while adding value through process improvement and risk mitigation initiatives.

• Plan, lead, and execute risk-based internal audits across operational, financial, IT, and compliance areas.
• Develop and maintain the annual audit plan in alignment with the company's risk profile and business objectives.
• Evaluate internal controls, policies, and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency.
• Prepare and present clear, well-documented audit reports to senior management.
• Identify risks and control weaknesses; provide actionable recommendations to address findings.
• Supervise and mentor audit staff; review audit workpapers for quality and compliance.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to promote a strong risk management and compliance culture.
• Stay informed on insurance regulatory developments (e.g., NAIC, SOX, state-level requirements) and industry best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of progressive experience in internal audit or public accounting.
• Experience working with or auditing insurance companies is preferred (life, health, or P&C).
• Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies and frameworks (e.g., COSO, IIA standards).
• Excellent communication skills.
