About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer with a strong background in fintech, ideally within payday loans, consumer lending, or related financial services. You will join our international product development team working on solutions tailored to the African market. You’ll be responsible for enhancing and maintaining scalable fintech platforms, collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

• Feature Development: Design, develop, and enhance core system features within legacy and modern platforms

• Collaboration: Work closely with architects and team members on system design, data models, and architecture

• Bug Fixing: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and bugs in a timely manner

• Sprint Participation: Contribute to sprint planning and estimation

• Code Quality: Maintain high test coverage and write unit tests

• Documentation: Create and maintain project documentation

• Issue Resolution: Respond to production and QA issues within agreed SLAs

• 3+ years of experience in PHP development

• Experience with PHP 8.1 or higher

• Prior experience in fintech, lending, or payday loan systems is the preferable.

• Experience with PHP frameworks (e.g., Symfony or Zend)

• Strong understanding of OOP, software design patterns, and best practices

• Experience with GIT, unit testing (PHPUnit), Docker, and CI/CD concepts, Kubernetes

• Experience working with issue tracking tools like Jira

• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

Nice to Have:

• SQL knowledge, particularly PostgreSQL

• Experience with query optimization

• Familiarity with Agile environments
