About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Facilities Engineer/ Pharmaceutical Construction PM with strong project management experience in a GMP-regulated environment. In this role, you will oversee facility expansion projects from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements. You will coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Regularly review project scope, timelines, and milestones to ensure expansion projects remain on track.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with construction teams, architects, equipment suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Schedule Management: Align all trades (construction, electrical, HVAC, etc.) on timelines, manage task dependencies, and mitigate potential delays.
  • Budget Monitoring: Track and manage project budgets, ensuring expenses remain within approved limits.
  • GMP Compliance: Ensure all design and construction activities meet GMP standards and regulatory requirements (Health Canada, FDA).
  • Inspections & Audits: Coordinate internal audits and support external regulatory inspections.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain detailed project documentation (design specs, validation reports, as-built drawings) to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Site Walkthroughs: Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Engineering Design Review: Evaluate and approve technical designs (HVAC systems, cleanroom layouts, water/waste systems) to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Equipment Integration: Coordinate the integration of pharmaceutical equipment (e.g., autoclaves, filtration systems, reactors) into facility layouts.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a GMP-regulated environment as a Facilities Engineer, or in building systems oversight/project management related to GMP facilities (pharmaceutical preferred; medical device, food & beverage, or cosmetics accepted).
  • Project management or coordination experience with projects valued at $100k+ (managing projects between $200k–$2M ).
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple vendors and contractors.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with pharmaceutical cleanroom design and validation processes.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
