About the Role

Career1 is hiring on behalf of our client, a fast-growing pizza manufacturing company in Mississauga. We are seeking a Plant Manager to lead daily operations, manage production teams, and drive efficiency in a busy food production facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear career growth path, offering the opportunity to advance into a VP of Operations position within 12–18 months for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily plant operations to meet production volume, quality, and on-time delivery targets.
• Oversee labour utilization, raw material usage, waste control, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, CFIA, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Hire, train, and mentor employees while maintaining high morale and low turnover.
• Manage plant budgets, operating costs, and contribute to P&L oversight.
• Implement process improvements using Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methods.
• Collaborate with supply chain, finance, quality, and sales teams to align operations with company goals.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in food production, manufacturing, or operations leadership.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, CFIA).
• Proven experience in managing teams, optimizing processes, and controlling costs.
• Solid financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
• Hands-on leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Lean or Kaizen is an asset.
