Customer Service Representative - CGC

Job Summary:

The incumbent provides customer service including reception coverage, financial processing and membership services in a fast paced recreation facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform front line customer service for the general public: provide information, answer and resolve complaints, process transactions, record client information, and validate daily admissions and memberships in a fast paced multi-use recreation complex.
  2. Process and reconcile payments for a wide range of recreation services according to established internal and external controls in an accurate and timely manner: maintain floats, post and reconcile daily transactions, export daily financial revenues for the department, check transactions for accuracy and compliance with current regulations.
  3. Maintains client database: obtain, record and update personal and financial information, ensure data protection compliance at all times.
  4. Provide administrative support: input daily statistics, generate reports, distribute forms, track inventory and supplies, and update promotional displays.
  5. Coordinate central communication point for clients and staff, relay information and required action, in both emergency and non-emergency situations, to relevant parties.
  6. Act as Team Lead as assigned.
  7. Follow, so far as is reasonably practicable, established safety procedures and standards.
  8. Other related duties.

Position Requirements

Working Conditions:

Majority of work is performed in public recreation environment with exposure to noisy conditions and close bodily contact. Hours of work between 04:30 and 24:00, Sunday to Saturday. Regular evening and weekend work is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Grade 12.
  • 1 year previous related experience and 3 months on the job training.
  • RCMP Vulnerable Sector check.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR, Level C. WHIMIS.
  • Class 5 Drivers' License.
  • Customer service training.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Vehicle, Point of Sale terminal, general office equipment including skills to operate software and hardware related to Recreation Activity Management Software, Digital

Display solutions, as well as word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail, internet and ERP.
