Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading insurance company seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a critical role that supports core accounting functions, ensures compliance with regulatory and GAAP standards, and contributes to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

• Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and statutory insurance accounting requirements
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulatory requirements, and industry standards (e.g., NAIC)
• Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors, providing requested documentation and analysis
• Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements within the finance function
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff when needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in the insurance or financial services sector
• Proficient in Excel and financial reporting tools
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
