Senior Business Analyst
Duration : 1 year with potential for extension.
Location : Calgary/Edmonton (Hybrid 3 days in office)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team. The successful
candidate will bring extensive experience in supporting technical implementation projects
across various integrated systems. Working closely with stakeholders, the candidate will
help develop effective solutions. This role demands strong analytical abilities, a deep
understanding of business processes, and a proven history of delivering technology-driven
solutions that enhance data workflows and reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support technology implementation projects integrating legacy systems with cloud
applications.
• Understand business goals, objectives, and project value to effectively work with
subject matter experts and business users to identify, document, and prioritize
business requirements.
• Work with the business to identify, understand, and document the current state
organization structure and business processes.
• Collaborate with IT resources for inclusion and documentation of non-functional
technical and operational requirements.
• Work with business and 3rd party experts to understand, assess, and document the
future state target operating model, business processes, and business
requirements.
• Understand and validate the proposed technical solution against business
requirements.
• Define and document business use cases.
• Facilitate User Acceptance testing.
• Collect requirements, ensuring they align with business functional requirements.
• Experience with creating mockups.
• Communicate findings and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders,
ensuring that business requirements are met.
• Provide documentation, training, and support to end-users, ensuring they are
equipped to effectively use the new systems.
Must have
• 7+ years as a Business Analyst supporting multiple initiatives.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong consultation, collaboration, and facilitation skills to assess business
requirements.
• Experience working on ERP implementations. Examples include Maximo, Oracle,
etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical
concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to determine
root causes and identify alternative solutions to business problems, and facilitate
continuous improvement.
• Ability to negotiate scope with multiple stakeholder groups.
Preferred Qualifications
• CBAP certification.
• Experience in a regulated environment as a Business Analyst (i.e., Utility).
• Experience with iGrafx for process management.
• Experience with Test Case & script creation.
• Experience with Power BI and dashboard development an asset.
• Project-based experience with some of Gas and Pipelines core applications, such
as (in order of importance):
o Jira
o Maximo
o Oracle Integration Cloud
o Oracle Field Service
o Power BI
o Microsoft suite of products
