Your new role

As the Senior Project Manager (SPM), you will be accountable for the full lifecycle delivery of major mechanical contracting projects, typically ranging from $1M to $25M+ in value. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Project Execution & Controls: Developing and overseeing project schedules using CPM tools, directing resource allocation, and monitoring earned value, schedule adherence, and risk.
  • Pre-construction & Tendering: Participating in bid reviews and construction assessments, collaborating on tender preparation, and identifying risks and opportunities in subcontract scopes and specifications.
  • Financial Management: Preparing and tracking job cost budgets and forecasts, approving invoices, managing change orders, and ensuring proactive cost control.
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Acting as the primary point of contact for owners, consultants, and municipal clients, leading progress meetings, and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Safety & Compliance: Championing WASM’s “Zero Tolerance for Unsafe Acts and Conditions” policy and ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Leading and coaching project coordinators, site superintendents, and trades teams, promoting professional development, and upholding WASM’s core values.
  • Quality & Commissioning: Enforcing QA/QC protocols, overseeing pre-startup planning, and coordinating with engineers and vendors to resolve technical issues.

This hybrid role combines office work with site visits and occasional travel across Ontario.
