JOB SUMMARY:

Max Insurance is looking for a highly skilled Subrogation Adjuster with deep expertise in property claims and recovery opportunities across Canada.

This role is designed for an experienced claims professional who can lead subrogation investigations, identify recovery prospects, and negotiate settlements with third parties, insurers, and counsel.

As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with adjusters, leaders, and external partners to maximize recovery opportunities while ensuring regulatory and legal compliance across provincial jurisdictions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead comprehensive subrogation investigations related to property claims across Canada, identifying potential recovery opportunities through in-depth file analysis and evidence gathering
• Evaluate liability and damages to determine subrogation potential and develop effective recovery strategies
• Negotiate settlements with third parties, insurers, and legal counsel to maximize financial recovery while minimizing litigation risks
• Collaborate with internal adjusters, claims teams, and leadership to share subrogation insights and support claim resolution strategies
• Act as a subject matter expert on subrogation matters, providing guidance on legal, regulatory, and procedural considerations across provincial jurisdictions
• Partner with external vendors, legal representatives, and industry contacts to strengthen recovery opportunities in compliance with applicable laws

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years of property claims experience, with a strong track record in subrogation.
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian insurance law and provincial legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience handling large loss, fraud-related, or complex subrogation files is an asset.
• Drive and an eagerness to roll up their sleeves and get to work
• A desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
