The Role

• Based on your experience, you will be responsible for leading the following operations:

Data Infrastructure Development & Operations

• Designing, operating, and optimizing data lake/pipeline in an AWS × Databricks environment.
• Operating and optimizing performance of ETL/ELT using tools like Fivetran.
• Designing databases and tuning structures based on business requirements.

Enhancing Operational Stability and Reliability

• Performance improvements for various databases and automating data quality management (quality checks, alert design, etc.).
• Collaborating with the Data Governance Team to improve reliability.

CI/CD and Operational Automation

• Automating CI/CD workflows and pipelines.
• Designing and implementing data engineering standards.

Solving Technical Issues & Knowledge Sharing

• Analyzing and resolving technical issues in the data infrastructure.
• Mentoring young engineers and sharing best practices.

Applicable Technology Stack

• Cloud: AWS (general), Databricks, Fivetran, Workato.
• Languages: Python, SQL.
• Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases.
• Visualization: Tableau.
• Monitoring: Datadog, PagerDuty.
• Others: Slack, Backlog, TreasureData, Salesforce, ChatGPT Teams, GitHub Copilot.

Your Skills

Required Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, or Infrastructure/DB/Backend Engineer.
• Experience in building and operating data stores and data integration systems on AWS.
• SaaS utilization for data processing/data lake operations.
• Proven track record in database tuning and performance improvement.
• Strong communication skills to conduct business in Japanese.
• Knowledge equivalent to AWS Solutions Architect - Professional certification.

Preferred Skills:

• Databricks-related certifications or cloud qualifications.
• Experience with data governance/quality management tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Apache Atlas).
• CDMP certification.
• Development experience in web/mobile applications (using Python or JavaScript).
• Ability to read and write technical documentation in English

Salary

9 - 12 million yen

Working Environment

• Working hours: 9:00 - 18:00 (Flextime available).
